The Third Prince performed by TAANY Techno Santaizi Troupe
Santaizi, which in Mandarin means "Third Prince", is a traditional Temple God figure worshipped as a protector and defender of justice. He has gained enormous popularity in recent years through the phenomenon of "Techno Third Prince", which is the use of Santaizi in musical performances featuring Techno and other types of popular music. Techno Santaizi dance symbolizes the vibrancy, vitality, and creativity of modern Taiwanese culture and identity has become a cultural icon recognized worldwide.
The TAANY Techno Santaizi Troupe, sponsored by the Taiwanese American Association of New York, consists of students and young professionals from various backgrounds. The Troupe has performed at a variety of events such as the New York Times Travel Show, the Travel + Leisure Global Bazaar, Taiwan Day at the New York Mets' Citi Field, the Smithsonian's "Musem Day Live!" at Grand Central Terminal, New York City's Summer Street Festival, and NYC's annual celebration of Taiwanese American Heritage on Union Square, Passport to Taiwan. |

A Taiwanese Indigenous Dance As a celebration to kickoff Lunar New Year of 2014, Yung-Li, Artistic Director of YUNG-LI DANCE, has choreographed a contemporary Taiwanese Amis dance for the Delaware Art Museum. Six dancers wearing hand-made Amis costume shipped from Taiwan dancing to the festive tribal music sung by Taiwanese indigenous musicians, the experience will take you across the continents to Taiwan and keep you spirited through the year. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to get to know this beautiful island's culture. |

About the Delaware Art Museum Founded in 1912, the Delaware Art Museum is best known for its large collection of British Pre-Raphaelite art, works by Wilmington-native Howard Pyle and fellow American illustrators, and urban landscapes by John Sloan and his circle.Visitors can also enjoy the outdoor Copeland Sculpture Garden and a number of special exhibitions throughout the year. The Delaware Art Museum, located at 2301 Kentmere Parkway, Wilmington, DE 19806, is open Wednesday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Sunday noon – 4:00 p.m. Admission fees are charged as follows: Adults (19 – 59) $12, Seniors (60+) $10, Students (with valid ID) $6, Youth (7 – 18) $6, and Children (6 and under) free.
